My 4,5V train-engine failed recently. After opening it up (a problem in intself because of the sealed box) i discovered that one of the brushes of the electric motor broke of and destroyed part of the anchor.  Also the cupper wiring burned out (mainly because of the quite strong short circuit-currect from the nicad-battery's it was running on at that momment i suspect.

I'm looking for advise on repair or replacement

Specifically I would like answers to the following questions:

Where do i buy a replacement trainengine ?

Where do i buy an electric motor to replace the burnt one ?

Is it possible to let the 9V train motor (kit # 5300 i believe) run on the old 4,5V blue tracks (supposed i fix it with a 9 V- battery).  I'm specially worried about the wheel profile being able to negotiate the points.

Is it possible to fix wheels with train-type flanges to the engine that looks about the same as my old one but has technic-style axle holes ?

Does anyone have another idea to get me running again ?

Thanks in advance for bothering to reply !
