Thanks Ben!  This was graet - it turns out that the engine I had been going for
was a BR 52 - I was able to get a whole slieu of pictures of it and similar
engines, and then use some of the information on the site to track down more
pics via a search engine.  There's more than enough source material in the
building room now!

Thanks again,

shaun

Hi all,

Does anyone know of an online source that has pictures of German trains
from the 1930s and 40s?  In particular I'm looking for pictures of the
engines (locomotives? please forgive me, my train parlance is
substandard ;) ... any help, or any information on where I should go to
look for help if this ain't the place, would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
shaun

I have a Märklin-catalogue for inspiring ideas on classic German trains. You
can find it online at:

http://www.maerklin.com/produkte/index.html

Search via:
Artikel-Gruppe: Lokomotiven
Untergruppe:    Dampflok

In result you should find over 60 engines.

Kind Regards,

Ben
