  Re: PNLTC breaks guiness record!

I (...) At one time, I held this record unoffically, with 92 cars, and ONE engine...if you dig back you can find ref. to it on .trains James P (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  A nitpick about subject lines...

It's Guinness(r) rather than "guinness", I believe, as it's a trademarked proper name. Let's not be dilutive of trade dress. :-) (URL) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: PNLTC breaks guiness record!

Clarifying the train, length, configuration, and other details... track length was 3343 ft, not 3232 as originally posted. This smaller number was the uncalibrated value from the LEGO odometer. As far as an equivalent number of official meters, I (...) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Full Report: PNLTC unofficially breaks Guinness Book Record for longest rail line.

(...) This is quite impressive! How were you guys able to run three engines on the long train? I'm assuming that all wheels were powered, I've been told that the standard LEGO train controller can safely handle four motors at the most. (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: PNLTC breaks guiness record!

(...) Ah <light turning on above head> So THAT's why there wasn't much in the way of engines and cars compared to the amount of track. I had understood that the object was to make the longest TRAIN, which was why each club sent a car, and such a (...) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Caboose height....

(...) Hi Lar, Yeah, that is why I posted the link. You are right; cabooses used to be as tall as box cars, but now they are shorter. I am glad that they are shorter. The caboose I made looked horrible when I tried to make it taller. By the way, how (...) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Fanzine underway- Coloumist/Article writer needed!

(...) I understand perfectly. A magazine has to get things right. Including the spelling and grammer. Being in the UK ISTR a newspaper called The Garduian - which had frequent errors. I belive publishing practice is to have an independet person (...) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.publish, lugnet.general)

  Re: Caboose height....

(...) Right. Which supports what people were saying, boxcars have gotten taller since cabooses were designed. That caboose, even though it has modern features like an extended vision cupola, is much older in general design than the hi- cube boxcar (...) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Fanzine underway- Coloumist/Article writer needed!

(...) I think your effort is laudable, but I would *strongly* suggest that you employ a spell checker, or better yet, get some human to review any copy that you personally write (spell checkers are not infallible, one thing they miss is InCorrect (...) (24 years ago, 25-Aug-00, to lugnet.trains)

Full Report: PNLTC unofficially breaks Guinness Book Record for longest rail line.

Not to upstage my comrades here, I've been asked by many to provide a full report including many detailed notes of the event. 12:45PM, Saturday, August 19th, 2000: PNLTC broke the official Guinness Book World Record for Longest LEGO Train Line of (...)
