  Re: Railroad 2-man pushcar?

(...) You are probably right. I looked at the box for my HO scale model and Bachmann calls it a gandy dancer. That is what I have always called it. (...) Correct. (...) I have downloaded the entire book, but having an original copy would be nice. (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4559 works with 7835?

(...) Since all the track is the same gauge, it can all be easily replaced to work with the other systems. The only exception that I know of is the original Level Crossing piece, because the rails were individually laid in. I have 7835, and the 9v (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4559 works with 7835?

According to my site... (URL) and 7835 are both maunual 7866 is remote control (not automatic, it has no sensors) 7834 and 7866 are 12V because they come with the centre 12V conductor rails, 7835 does not, so without modification it only works with (...)   Re: Railroad 2-man pushcar?

(...) <sound of palm hitting forehead> I downloaded the entire 7777 book to a Zip disk and did not even think to look there.... Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunately, due to a nasty, incapacitating bought of the flu, I did not do any building this (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Wife's commentary on my building

(...) Funny thing about those wives. Sometimes they can nail it on the head in a second. Every once in a while I'll be watching a tv show/movie and she'll walk in, watch it for 15 seconds, exclaim, "This is dumb," walk out, and I'll spend the next (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4559 works with 7835?

So I guess my 7835 has no actual use in my Legocity unless I buy a new set of train that works on this type of rail. Also, how come there's a sign saying 7835 is a 4.5V set on my instruction? I'm really confused in this issue. Larry Pieniazek wrote (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: 4559 works with 7835?

(...) 7835 is 12V. The track is not compatible since it has plastic outer rails. To use it, buy a box of straight track (4515?) and rebuild it using 9V track. Since this crossing is manually operated, you'll be all set. Or, buy a new one and sell (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: Railroad 2-man pushcar?

(...) Well, I believe it's called a handcar. And, I believe gandy dancer is slang for a track worker. So called because the process of setting ties, laying tie plates, dropping rail, setting spikes, and driving them home, when properly executed by a (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  FS/T 7851 Curved Rails

I have a 7851 Curved Rails that has been sitting in my closet for a few years now (no idea what possessed me to buy it since I have no Lego trains). (...) I usually refer to it as a gandy dancer. The game LEGO LOCO comes with one. There are also instructions to build one in the 7777 Train Idea Book: (URL) the way, if anyone wants to sell a 7777, please let me know. Russell (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

  4559 works with 7835?

Hi I'm new to both this newsgroup and Lego train. Recently I bought a 4559 train and I have an old 7835 level crossing. I'm just wondering if they work with each other and if not, how can I work ith the 7835 set so that the rail will actually work (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)
