According to my site...
http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/train_depot/oldlist.htm

7834 and 7835 are both maunual
7866 is remote control (not automatic, it has no sensors)

7834 and 7866 are 12V because they come with the centre 12V conductor rails,
7835 does not, so without modification it only works with 4.5V battery trains.
Any of these sets can easily be converted for 9V trains by simply replacing
the track [1] (although the barriers on the 7866 will still require the old
12V transformer to operate)

[1] I don't actually own any of these sets so if anyone knows different, let
me know.

(...) Since all the track is the same gauge, it can all be easily replaced to work with the other systems. The only exception that I know of is the original Level Crossing piece, because the rails were individually laid in. I have 7835, and the 9v (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) 7835 is 12V. The track is not compatible since it has plastic outer rails. To use it, buy a box of straight track (4515?) and rebuild it using 9V track. Since this crossing is manually operated, you'll be all set. Or, buy a new one and sell (...) (26 years ago, 11-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)
