(...) Actually a typical bridge rectifier will drop ~1.4 volts in the supply. That's alot! About a 16% drop in voltage, and a 29% drop in overall power at the top end. (...) Like Jordan I found that triple wheel sets work fine as long as the wheels are close together. However, with my (URL) breakdown crane>, I found that it did increase the rolling resistance somewhat in corners, so your trains will slow down more (...) (...) I haven't tried it with this set, but I did try a six-wheeled version of the locomotive from 4563. It worked fine, as long as the wheels were one set right after the other. Hey, A couple of years ago, I built the (URL) Tilt Train> and James Mathis came up with a (URL) great idea> on how to simplify the tilting mechanism. Ever since I've been wanting to use this tilt design to built the Swedish X2000 high speed tilting (...) (...) Mark & Ross Benz of BAYLUG created a working mag-lev train using lego train magnets. It canbe done, it just might get expensive if you use an all-Lego solution. I foud this curious picture: (URL) It is (poorly translated by google) a hovertrain, that runs on a monorail style track, with a jet(?) engine driving it forwards. they referred to it as a "plane without wings".
