Tragon - Not a train, not a dragon...

  Re: New Loco MOC

(...) Wow! I'm very honored to have a comment from the brilliant Lego train Designer, aka James Mathis... Thanks a lot James and Gianluca for your help about the front of my loco. Like you, I didn't like the stud of the 1x2 SNOT slope brick, and I (...) (19 years ago, 10-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: One New Train in Two Liveries-- Your opinion

(...) Yeah, I'm a little sticker-shocked right now with my purchases to get all the parts for six complete sets! I think a lot of us are willing to shell out a lot of money for our own MOCs. Different story when it comes to buying someone else's (...) (19 years ago, 9-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New Loco MOC

(...) Very nice! And works for less than 8-wide. later, James Mathis (19 years ago, 9-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: New Loco MOC

(...) Very good work, Alban, with one of my favourite electric locos (it was the loco in my first Lima toy train...) I have a slightly better solution to James' modification: (URL) and the exploded view: (URL) And yes, James, that slope also exists (...) (19 years ago, 9-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: One New Train in Two Liveries-- Your opinion

(...) James, That is a great model, but I am not your target audience. I love the set, I just can't see spending that much on a train. I say this knowing that I have probably spent almost that much on the trains that I have built myself, but it (...) (19 years ago, 9-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: One New Train in Two Liveries-- Your opinion

--SNIP-- (...) To be honest I toyed with that idea myself for The Ghan and was swayed more by laziness than generosity. I think that both are worthwhile. In some ways I think releasing custom kits and instructions is actually more beneficial to the (...) (19 years ago, 8-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Photo of Train MOCs in local newspaper

Following the recent Birkenhead (UK) model railway show, at which we exhibited our small layout (12'x6'), the exhibition manager sent me the photo that appeared in the local free newspaper, the Wirral Globe: (URL) layout is top right and the (...)   Re: One New Train in Two Liveries-- Your opinion

(...) Tim, I'm glad to see your recent public posting of instructions for the NR 75 Ghan. It really gives me pause to think about where our LEGO train hobby is going and how well we are doing sharing ideas and growing in our creativity. I am torn (...)   Re: New Loco MOC

(...) Alban, I was inspired by your SNOT work on the windscreen to try to use the new 1x1x2/3 slope in replacement of the 1x2 45-deg slope that is either-side of the front windscreen. In CAD, it looks like this: (URL) Notice the 1/2-plate offset (...) (19 years ago, 8-Nov-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
