Hint #9: The Big Thing is internally braced by 30 feet of 3/4 galvanized steel pipe. The pipe does not support the structure or even connect to it, but it's backup just in case. -Ted (19 years ago, 21-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains.org.scltc, FTX)
