here is the final design on the lego 4 door car. if anyone wants instructions let me know, or any suggestions? brickshelf folder (URL) link (URL) did some research, and this can be built. i think it would be funny to see this at a lego train show. They are indeed catwalks, though they're not single rails. They're boards. I believe they disappeared around 1960 or so. At the least, modern boxcars don't have them. -Stefan- (...) (21 years ago, 16-Apr-03, to lugnet.trains)
