wanted - old train traction tire

I have aquired a motor and battery box similiar to that in set # 116. I am going to try and recreate the engine and tender from this set. The motor has four train wheels attached, but only three have the rubber traction tires. I am looking for one (...)   Re: A4 British Locomotive

(...) The problem is that Lego makes it *very* difficult to build things in proportion, lengthwise. The nose slope should actually be much shallower ("witch dresses" at the most for the bottom layer) but you'd end up having half the length of the (...)   Re: A4 British Locomotive

(...) Ahh, I see what you mean now. Yep, i did build it flat on the top previously, but im not sure how i felt about the look of it. As of right now, i only have two pics to work from, and they are 3/4s views, and not side views. I think i decided (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.build)

  Re: A4 British Locomotive

(...) Well, I noticed that the top of the boiler in teh LDraw pic is horizontal, and the same height as the firebox top, and in the model as built the firebox is a plate higher than th eboiler top, and there is a step in the boiler top about halfway (...)   Re: A4 British Locomotive

(...) Im not sure i get your drift when you say horizontal... The LDraw render of it is a preliminary idea of what i wanted to do, then the pics are what it is currently, except for the functionality of the wheels/drivers. If you didnt find the (...)   [HELP]: Info needed on train wagon chassis

Anybody knows what sets you could find this kind of black wagon chassis in, and when it was made? (URL) (25 years ago, 8-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: New MOC:TGV in Orange

They named a train after my home town? Wow. Does "grande vitesse" imply anything in French other than "very fast"? If it doesn't, I think Grand Rapids should get a refund on The Calder.   Re: Question about old train set

(...) Yes the 3x3 (low sloped) corner yellow bricks did come in the 7740 (4 to a set). But I contacted the eBay seller of the bid (where there were 18 of these). He (living in Israel) works part time for TLG, and got these slopes in a special (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: New MOC:TGV in Orange

Congrats. It looks so good it hurts. (Thinking of why TLG doesn't bring out such sets, even knowing the amount of bricks would mean splitting the train over several affordable sets). Eric (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains)
