(...) Just to clarify: The only show where we were *required* to have flame-retardent skirting was the NMRA 'National' show. (...) Don't worry about it we thought it was a requirement but it was a non-issue. (...) I got some cheep fabric from a fabric store and my Mother-in-law put a couple hems on them. (...) Yes. When you set the power for an output port actually you select the duty cycle of a square wave. The granularity depends on firwmare. I have controlled LEGO trains via the RCX many times. The question is how to control the speed of the train under a finer ganularity then just the native power levels. snip ...this comment has promise!
