Re: pictures from Wamalug's April 1st meeting

(...) the 3 polarity switches are run by the 3 outputs of the RCX, with 2 inputs used for light sensors. The construction of the polarity switches is so that the timeing on the motors isn't important - the only reason they're timed is to reduce wear (...) (24 years ago, 11-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: More Useless Info (was: Small Gauge Train Tracks ??)

(...) Incidentally, I remember when I was a kid noticing that HO scale trains actually run OK in 4-wide tracks - they run on the lower edge of the flange. Pretty useless but I just thought I'd throw it in 8?) ROSCO (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: pictures from Wamalug's April 1st meeting

(...) Dan - Cool. So the polarity switches are motorized 5120s controlled by an RCX's light sensor inputs? Are there two inputs and two outputs used on the RCX? How do you limit the length of time the 5120s receive power from the motors? Is that a (...) (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Small Gauge Train Tracks ??

(...) 4.5v track will work for straights, but the curves won't. I did experiment though with 12v track. By using the conductor rail, you can get a semi-workable narrow guage. The problem is that the conductor rails aren't quite centered on the stud (...) (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)

Third time's a charm John! Tag your it! Set it up! Some where central near a hub airport, maybe Denver? How about in August. If you hustle maybe we can get traction. Maybe we can get Brad involved and have an open to the public weekend. Some train (...) (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org)

  Small Gauge Train Tracks ??

Are there any commonly-used custom track styles that can accomodate the small train wheels on a 4-stud-wide scale? That is to say, if you have the small train wheels mounted on a 2x2 plate w/ two axle posts off the sides, what can you build to use (...) (24 years ago, 10-Apr-01, to lugnet.trains)
