  10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(URL) Just saw this on BS. I've heard the set mentioned by name on Eurobricks but to see it... just WOW. Tim (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX) !!

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Amazing lego set. I can't see myself buying it, but really look forward to seeing builders expand upon it and make blocks of similarly styled and detailed buildings. Jonathan (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) This set is completely beautiful!!!! Remember LEGO Ambassador Steve Sander's (URL) announcement>? Check out (URL) this drawing>. It says this modular building project will launch in April and there will be more detail in the March (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Wow indeed. I never thought I'd see an official set like that. It's perhaps a touch overdone - too many colours/details in a relatively small space - but still, wow! With these 2007 sets you are spoiling us, ambassa... er, LEGO. I have vowed (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) I agree. Congratulations to TLG for creating a real town building! I see the TLG designers were taking notes with respect to your wheel well trim/lintel idea;-) JOHN (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Huh-- why is that? I'd think it would make a fantastic set for various parts, even if you're not interested in the model (since it might not necessarily fit into your desired scale or scheme). DaveE (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Price. I can't see the day where I would spend more than $40-$50 (if even that) on a set any more. Not that I disagree with you or feel it is not worth whatever the price will be. I just don't spend that kind of money on sets. I'd rather go to (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Ahh, ok. I thought it might be either the price tag or the bley issue, but just checking. For myself, I've found buying sets to be kinda helpful insofar as it exposes me to new pieces and increases my collection's potential. Kind of like when (...) AND (drum roll please) USD MSRP is 140, which is not bad. (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) There is no bley issue with me. This is my home layout. Bley is all over it. (URL) (...) Totally agreed. Hence my mention on the instructions. One of my goals is to keep my stock of bricks waiting to be used as low as possible too. It gets (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Is the interior detailed, as well? This is a lovely model, I'm curious as to how much 'play value' it has - or if it's more just for looks. I mentioned to a coworker that lately Lego seems to be producing more sets that appeal to adults more (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Looks like not. I had heard early on that this wouldn't have an interior, and it looks like that's confirmed if you check out the images of the box. But it DOES appear that it might have floors that are ready to be furnished as you see fit. (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) Hmmm, for that price I can go to Bricklink and create a similar sized KILLER MOC™ of my own design. What's interesting to me is that I blanche at that price point, but I'll spend whatever it takes to build my own. Go figure. JOHN (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) You must have access to cheaper stores that I do ;) No way I could build something that size at that price. Tim (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) I'm with Tim, 2000+ parts for $140. That is extremely good if true. I was expecting $200 to tell the truth. -Eric (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

  Re: 10182 Cafe Corner... WOW

(...) I have to agree with you John, about the pricing situation. For that money you can get quite a haul at Bricklink. What I don't like about the model is the windows. Granted the arches over them on the 2nd and 3rd floor give it a nice Victorian (...) (18 years ago, 6-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

(...) I saw this set up close a couple of weeks ago. It is truly a sight to see, but I can confirm that the interiors are NOT furnished. (...) I have to ask about the minifig guy in the front corner, the one with the broom. What is he sweeping? Are those oranges? What pieces are those? Are they spheres? If so, do I detect micro-scale GBC possibilities? Rafe (18 years ago, 7-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Holy crap! That is the most impressive looking official set I dare say I have ever seen! And this will be part of a modular series? That is so awesome. (...) I totally agree with you. It seems that all my buildings have the either stacked 2x2 trans-black panels or the 1x4x5 large pane windows. Not much variety. They need to make a 1x3x4 double paned office building window. -Jim (18 years ago, 10-Mar-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Holy cow. I don't go online for a week and look what happens. That is amazing. I think that is the first set in a long time that I might not take apart right away for the parts.
