Holy crap!
That is the most impressive looking official set I dare say I have ever seen!
And this will be part of a modular series? That is so awesome.
I too am buying 99% of my LEGO from Bricklink or Pick-a-Brick these days, but
this just may pull me back into buying official sets again. I really look
forward to building this one.
Bravo, LEGO set designers and higher-ups at LEGO who approved this set!

Im pretty much in the same boat as Brendan. I havent purchased a set since
probably January 2004, but the sets that are coming out this year are really
impressive.
Personally I dont like this set for what it is as Ive never really had a thing
for euro architecture, but I do think it has potential. I see this set as an
opportunity to learn something during the build but more importantly the parts
selection is what really sells me on this. I can easily see myself using parts
from this one set in 2 or 3 American style buildings and the building techniques
in several more.
This set could also be an excellent choice for an alternate model competition at
a community event like Brickworld. Builders would make a MOC using the parts
from this one set with the winner getting a copy of the set as a prize. It could
lead to some really cool models, which TLC could post instructions for. Anyway
its an idea.
