Don't feel too bad; my Father once built outta my legos (as a kid) a big-ass (can I say ass on here?) plane that almost looked like one of those cargo planes with propellers. I was planning to build a realistic minifig scale Jumbo 747, then I figured out the dimensions of it, consequently I quit the whole project, because: A: It would be near 30 studs wide(God knows what that would be with the wings!) There are two Star Wars Lego posters that I have, one with Darth Vader and the other with Darth Maul, with their hands outstretched and Lego pieces flying between them. I bought them at the Lego Imagination Center at Disney World, and they may still (...) (25 years ago, 12-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

(...) How about gluing "sacrificial" pieces onto the table. Green 1x6 plates, or such like (now that they are more common!) could be glued onto the table where you want to locate a baseplate. Then, take a 2x4 plate, and attach it on top of the 1x6 (...) (25 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)

I have thought about the possibility of building such a table. Being an ex-model railroader myself, I would probably build the landscape out of plaster-coated mesh (adding paint and grass afterwards). I thought it would be a good idea to embed green (...) (25 years ago, 11-Mar-00, to lugnet.town)
