Greetings,

After to a year of interspersed building and three train shows I finally got
around to posting some pics. of my recreation of South Hall from U.C. Berkeley.

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=48254

I was inspired to build South Hall for several reasons:
1. it's red (and I've got a lot of red).
2. it is the first building ever on a U.C. campus.
3. I liked the architecture.

I personally have never been to Cal and thus have I've never actually seen South
Hall. I just looked up pictures on the web and built from those (several of them
are included on the Brickshelf link). My friend Dan Pearson from the SCLTC who
is an architecture grad. from Cal said it's an awesome recreation of South Hall.

If you have any comments, critiques, or questions please let me know.

Wow!  I walk by this building twice a day to get to and from work.  It's cool
seeing the landscape made out of Lego.  It's a very accurate rendition.  You'll
have to keep it around until I am able to make it down to the next Lugola
Meeting.

Now all you have to do is to make a Lego Campanile To go with it :) GO CAL!

Later, Chris

(...) Chris, I'm glad to hear that you feel I did South Hall justice. The building comes apart in three sections but it's a tight fit in my car so but I'll try to get it to the next LUGOLA meeting. In fact I've had to rebuild the center section (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jul-03, to lugnet.town)
