(...) That's the set I have in mind right now. I recently ordered 6335 (used) on bricklink, the wheels are attractive. The main street is very old (1980) so it must have a lot of basic bricks and slopes. Still a bit expensive, though. (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.town)

This was the first time a company (VELUX Netherlands) asked me to plan, design and build an exhibition display of LEGO bricks. This display (1.30 x 1.80 m) shows a town with a variety of building types, demonstrating VELUX roof windows in different (...) (22 years ago, 2-Feb-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.loc.nl) !!

(...) If you're starting out, the just-rereleased Main Street is a good way to start. It has all the parts to make some nice house(s), doesn't contain much unusable parts and seems pretty decently priced. The Octan gasstation is also quite good, (...) (22 years ago, 2-Feb-03, to lugnet.town)
