Hoppers work is very warm and sets a cozy mood. (Like dark red)


Thanks for the compliments.  I like your comparison to Hopper-- you and I can
start calling ourselves the Ashcan LEGO Builders;-)

Seriously though, I am into creating buildings that are specifically *not*
built in bright colors, but rather the earthy tones.  To me they look too
toyish, and that's not quite the effect I'm after.  I use primary or bright
colors for accents at most, and sparingly at that.  It's all a part of my 8
wide thing, to go the next step towards "realism" (Or more towards a "miniland
detail in minifig scale" idea).


My feelings as well. I do use red, but I try to warm it up with brown or
dark grey trim. Green, Blue & Yellow? only on awnings and things.
