I think that details are exceptionally important to town layouts, and help
the town look more like the real world. Items like a telephone box,
ATM/Cashcard and signposts. Streetlights are very useful as mini-signs can
be hung from them such as bus-stops and timetables, or parking regulations.
Also, one can use streetlights to hang the big banners you see in places
like San Francisco and Chicago from the streetlights advertising exhibitions
or other events and in Lego towns help with qualifying what area of town has
been modelled. Other details include pavement furniture such as litter
bins, parking meters, traffic lights, bollards, etc.

| (...) Good, details. I like to make raised sidewalks. That way, you can leave holes in them. The holes can be filled with brown bricks for a tree space. Or those darn grille tiles for subway vents. My favorite: a skeleton or two down there for the (...) (24 years ago, 27-Jan-01, to lugnet.town)
