Build On!

John Matthews

Yes, clearly you can buy and build from the tubs.
Unfortunately, I cant really identify a tub that contains the sort of pieces
that I want to build towns from. These mainly come in the town sets, like the
glass walls and other features that make the buildings realistic when built on
such a small scale. For example, I have recently built an airport terminal
where I wanted lots of the 4 brick high black framed windows that came in
police stations and fire stations of old. I used them in my train station too.
Much of the stuff in the tubs seems fairly basic and always the shorter red or
yellow windows, which might be OK for the building that the 6 year old does
(who it is targetted at to some extent), but not for the more sophisticated
stuff I dream of building.

This struck me as a bit like the constant demands for castle walls. Yes you
could build castles from bricks in tubs, but folks prefer the special castle
pieces so their castles look more realistic.

In just the same way as the castle folks keep demanding a Castle Tub, and the
train folks a train tub (full of train windows and doors), I suppose I want a
Town tub, full of detailed architectural elements, not just a bunch of 4x2
bricks.

perhaps I just moan too much!

lawrence
