  St. Marks Cathedral

This is my CAD MOC of St. Marks Cathedral from Venice, Italy. Its a curious blend of Gothic, Byzantine, and Romanesque architecture. (URL) hope you like it. Comments are appreciated. Brad (URL) (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.town) !

Re: Who invented the word "Juniorization", and when?

(...) I don't know for sure, but check the DejaNews archives for RTL -- I think goes back to 1997 or so. I think it also may have started with "Juniorized" first, preceded by "Town Jr." (nicknamed by Lou Zucaro). --Todd (24 years ago, 30-Oct-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: ADPolice web site updated

I like your city block! It reminds me a bit of "Blade Runner." The overhead connection between two buildings is really cool. (I'm copying this to "town" because I think the town folks would be interested). Brad Michael Hopkins <echopoint@yahoo.com> (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.town)

  Re: Depicting Bricks & Mortar

(...) I've only done this as an experiment and a small part of a building, but it looks pretty good if you use 1x2 red plates and stack them like bricks. As Chris Weeks pointed out the mortar space is incredibally tiny at minifig scale, so i would (...) (24 years ago, 29-Oct-00, to lugnet.town)

  I got a 6474 Wheeled Front Shovel for $1.59.

I was disappointed when I got all the new flyers and didn't have any money, but then I found some Canadian Tire money in my room. I had about $4, and then my mom gave me another Canadian Tire dollar and two real dollars and I was able to get really (...)   Re: Depicting Bricks & Mortar

(...) I just went out and measured the bricks here at work and find that they're 2.25 inches tall and 7.5 inches wide. The mortar joint is between 3/8 and 1/2 inch thick tending toward the smaller end. Are you trying to work with minifig scale? If (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.town)

  Depicting Bricks & Mortar

I'd do a search on "bricks" but it would be futile. No hits on Mortar. What I'm interested in is any way to hint at the color of mortar between bricks in a wall. I've noticed that solid red Lego buildings really betray the look of their real-world (...) (24 years ago, 28-Oct-00, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Sorting the new Subthemes

(...) I hope not. I'd like to see it tie in with last year's Space Port stuff -- that seems very natural. I'm surprised they gave it different number. I guess I'll have to buy a lot. :) (...)   Re: Sorting the new Subthemes

(...) My thoughts are: Life on Mars is designed to be a short-lived (1-2 years) play theme completely separate from Space or Town. The set numbers we know so far are 7310, 7311, 7312, 7313, 7314, 7315, 7316, and 7317 -- the smallest being 7310 and (...) That's so cool! I was having real brainaches trying to work out the co-ordinates I wanted to set my camera up to use, and this makes it fairly simple. Dan (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.cad)

Yes - Those parts are almost impossible to get nowdays. I remember me thinking how "sissy" the Paradisa sets were when they were out.   MLCAD/L3P/POVRAY Camera Tricks (was: re: More detail pictures of my condominium)

Thanks Terry K., who deals with the Model of the Month at www.ldraw.org gave me this advice. I'll paraphrase just in case he objects to any of his specific wording. In MLCAD, there is a "part" called POV-RAY (under Other Parts\P). Place 2 of these. (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.build, lugnet.town, lugnet.cad)
