I've considered this problem often. I tend to leave out some crucial things in
houses, e.g. bathrooms and under stairs cupboards. I think the cabins in Erin
Windross' cruiser (http://www.members.home.net/ourcreations/erin/) show an
excellent example of size of bedrooms. Depending on what sort of house you
want to build (e.g. terraced house or Bill Gates mansion) I would recomend a
room size of approximately 12x12 studs. Of course, this can be compressed or
expanded depending on how many bricks you have, as illustrated in all of
Lego's buildings.
I would like ot build a large mansion some day, but I think it will have to
wait until I build up the brick supplies!

| (...) At 1 stud=1 foot, that isn't really compressed. Of course the fact that minifigs are so disproportionate makes it kind of difficult to design furniture that fits in selectively compressed rooms...and we don't all have 1 ft thick walls (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.town)
