Would 1 x 8 tiles work instead of the 2 x 8 plates for wings?

These should make less resistance in the air, causing less turbulence etc.

Just a thought!
That sounds like a good idea to me too.  I think you might want to turn them so
the flat tile side is facing down and pushing.
