Most lego sets have a few extra parts when you are done building the main model.

More than likely. Lego also includes extras of some of the smaller parts on
a regular basis so if you loose lets say a technic peg, you can still build
the model.

Unfortunently there isint any books that I know of that talk about

Go to your local auto parts store and ask for a roll of winsheild wiper
fluid hose. Be shure to take a pneumatic part with to make shure it fits
correctly. this is what I use and it works very well. The nice thing about
it is its almost identical in size to the lego hose. In us currency it cost
8.50 for 50ft
