I have a couple thoughts about this.
I think someone said they tried to put a single motor into the 8466, using the gearbox, and that didn't work. Someone else put the 8475 motors (2 motors) into the same model with success.
Two motors are better than one.
Also, if the first person was powering the model with an RCX (which is current limited), they may not have had as much power going to the motors. I don't know the current limits on the RC unit.
I believe if you use the same number of motors, powered the same way, then the normal motors will be better.
But that shouldn't stop anyone from getting an RC Buggy...

Subject: 8475 motors
i'm confused. I have read that if you were to gear the 8475 motor down to
the same speed as the mindstorm motors, they are LESS powerful.
I have also saw somone motorise the 8466 without any gearing down using the
8475 motors, successfully. Now if you were to gear the mindstorms motor to
the same speed as the 8475 motors, then they arn't powerfull enough to drive
the 8466, which suggest the 8475 motors are MORE powerful. Can somone please
help me as I am wondering weather to buy the 8475. Unfortunately i don't
have the money to find out for myself.
