Nice crane, K K!

Do you have any trouble with the wire to the lifting motor getting scrunched
when the carriage moves towards the tower?

Thanks ROSCO, BTW, I did look at your crane pages before I started mine to
get the idea juices going and you really have a fantastic boom crane.

No trouble with the wire and the lifting motor getting scrunched.  I
deliberately chose a suitable length wire and used a 1x3 arch piece as a
wire management device to allow just the right extension when the carriage
is at the far end of the working jib.  The wire remains stiff enough that
when retracted it pretty much stays out of the way.  I suspect it might do
it after many, many iterations of movement and if the wire twists some but
so far no problemo.
I originally thought of making some kind of rubber band spooling system that
pays out the wire and retracts when the carriage is pulled in but I did not
come up with any interesting designs and allowing the wire to drop down
seems to work so I just left it that way.
