My second BIG technic project and the most fun yet for me. It took me 2
weeks to complete this tower crane but I enjoyed the challenge to make it as
"small" as possible and with as few pieces.
It is a basic T-shaped tower crane to be used in a future town layout to be
called the Lego Big Dig (apologies to Boston). I consider my best work in
the construction of the slewing unit of the crane which is a 9V motor
directly under a turntable and technic pieces to hold it all together.
It operates via the remote control to the RCX and functions quite smoothly
although the micromotor is of course a little slow in winching up loads.

Look under last MOC entry OR go directly to brickshelf at

The final version is better than version 1 (pictured last) cause the final
version has more counterweight in the back. Sent off for some weights from
Pisco Dacta and also used 9V battery boxes for weights.
PLMKWYT. Cheers !
