Modification + Short Supply of Parts = Help Needed

I've recently been trying to modify my #8444. My planned modifications, and the problems they've caused: -Opening cockpit (simple modification, really) Without being bolted down in front, the cockpit partially loses its shape. No biggie, though. (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

Re: 8880 Super Car motorization ideas?

This subject was thrashed fairly thoroughly a number of months ago, and I remember that the conclusion is no, not if the engine and transmission is left assembled as instructed. Now that the news search function is reestablished, you have a chance (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic)

  8880 Super Car motorization ideas?

I was tinkering around with my 8880 yesterday, trying to find a way to motorize it effectively. I wasn't able to find anything that works really well here; the only way I was able to do it at all was to further gear down a gear-reduction motor, and (...)   Re: Technic C-3P0: My First Impression

Hi, I think I read in here of someone w/ the same strange problem as me: In my Stormtrooper box was a 3P0!! I called lego to tell them of the mistake. I didn't mind this though, since the S.T. looks like...well....CRAP!! :7) Jono (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)

  Re: How rare is...

(...) Indeed. And I've also noticed these ones are suseptible to (permanent) bending. Several of my old axles have slight bends in them, making them less useful as axles. Still useful as linkages, though. Regards, ROSCO (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)

  Re: How rare is...

(...) All of the responses so far have focused on true white axles (which are somewhat rare). There are also #5 axles with stop which are much more common. Then there are translucent "white" axles. These predated the classic black axles and last (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.db.inv, lugnet.general, lugnet.technic)
