The point which is most likely to fail is right where the wire goes into the
end-plate. This is because thats where most bending occurrs most often. The
more it gets bent this way & that, the more likely it is to separate inside the
insulation. To fix it, you'd have to either:
1. Pry open the end-plate, trim the failed bit of wire & re-attach, then stick
the end-plate back together, or
2. If it fails somewhere else along the wire, cut out the failed section, and
re-connect in the middle.
Neither is particularly easy, or guaranteed to work, and both rely on being
able to work out exactly where it failed.
Probably simpler to get Lego to replace them (if they will...).
