I can't speak for Eric and I'm sure he'll answer anyway, but my $.02 is
that I agree that probably no one could have done any better with current
parts. But I also feel that just because that's true (assuming it is)
doesn't mean that the set oughtta be made. It's not my company, so I can't
judge their rationale -- I can only kvetch about how bad the model looks.
IMHO, it should either look good or not exist at all. The Technic Pit Droid,
Battle Droid, and Destroyer Droid all look great (IMHO) and C-3PO is marginal,
but the Stormtrooper is extremely disappointing. Note: This does NOT mean
that I'm disappointed in its designer's ability to make a realistic-looking
Stormtrooper. It means I am disappointed in LEGO for productizing something
that, IMHO, "just wasn't meant to be."

| (...) I hear your comments on this, but honestly I don't understand your view. How is the Stormtrooper so much worse than the other Star Wars models? I mean, they are all just approximations of the real things, and even the UCS sets have flaws, or (...) (24 years ago, 27-Oct-00, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.technic)
