Looking at that item brought me a bit of nostalgia - I still have my original
set from 1980 or thereabouts. I had no idea there was such a demand for it
now, although it certainly is a great model, in particular I loved the movable
and reclining seats, something I feel is missing in the 8448. I'm in the mood
for going and building it now :-)

Hi,
This particular set was a trigger to bring me out of my "dark ages" for a brief
time. My Mom gave my brother and myself each a set for Christmas and I had great
fun. At the time my car was an old VW beetle and this chassis appeared to be
modeled along those lines. I continued to purchase a few more till I could build
a four wheel drive , independant suspension, rack and pinion steering, flat six,
open wheeled Indy style car for my little stuffed Raccoon. I only have one
picture of it and if I ever get around to updating my website, it will be posted
there. My life changed and the Lego interest faded until a few years ago when I
happened thru a TRU. At the time all my Lego would fit into one medium size
fishing tackle box. This is no longer the case. LOL
Anyway, this set is definately a nostalgic one for me too ...
