Hello boys and girls! :o)

I saw some discussion about running the motor underwater before, and couldn't
help and had to try be myself.

The result is, that, based on the book 'Build your own underwater robot'
(http://www.ensc.sfu.ca/research/url/oc_projects) I've built my Lego
underwater ROV.

I just finished the first tests, and still have a lot of work to do on it.

Some details that I can point now are:
- the geared down motors are too slow (not enough RPM), but I don't have
(yet) the old ones to try;
- the small propelers used for steering are not enough, but the big one used
to go down and up works fine, maybe I'll try big ones for steering also (but I
don't have them yet)
- would be nice if I had another air tank to help it to float and regulate
the weight by adding some ballast (I was using nickels and pennies before I
add the steering)
- from the previous discussion (running motors underwater) I saw that the
motors can stop working due the water (the book I mentioned above has some
tips about making the motors water proof)

I uploaded some pictures at http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/moleque/ROV

I have a second version already but I didn't try yet. Probably, I'll send more
news tonight.

I'm also planning in making the mlcad file for it, as soon as I have something
more definitive.

Any thoughts and comments are really welcome.

Regards,

Ricardo 'Moleque' Andrade
