Re: New LDraw Tool for Parts author: Rulers and Calipers

(...) SNIP (...) *Very* interesting, Philo! I just wish I had the white axle 16. :-( Is it just me, or is the page 4 of the building instructions messed up? (16 years ago, 24-May-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: New LDraw Tool for Parts author: Rulers and Calipers

(...) These tools look very useful! Thanks for sharing the idea and design, Philo. Jim (16 years ago, 24-May-09, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.technic, FTX)

New LDraw Tool for Parts author: Rulers and Calipers

This time, it is not a software utility, but physical measuring tools... a set of do-it-yourself measuring instruments to get parts dimensions directly in LDraw units. (URL) Acrobat document to print your own rulers and scales, and building (...) (16 years ago, 24-May-09, to lugnet.announce, lugnet.cad, lugnet.technic, FTX) !

  Power Functions train controller

I've been reading the Power Functions protocol specification. I'm thinking that the train controller is using: Single Output Mode Mode = Clear/Set/Toggle 0100 Increment PWM and 0101 Decrement PWM when you spin a knob. Possibly Single Output Mode (...)   Re: Technicopedia Update

(...) Agreed. 8479 while having 4 models has a one clear "main" model. 8485 in my mind, has two main models and one alternate model. But neither are universal sets. 8094 is a universal set, in my line of thinking. (16 years ago, 17-May-09, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Technicopedia Update

(...) I no longer have a proofreader, so please feel free to let me know where you've found errors and I'll correct them. Just send me a personal email. I feel the same about the universal sets. I find that 8062, 8082, and 8094 are very good. The (...) (16 years ago, 17-May-09, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Technicopedia Update

(...) Hi Eric, awesome update. It's no wonder that I only have three technic universal sets in my collection - and one of these was a gift, 8020. The other two are 8082, along with 8456, the fiber optic set from 1996, which I consider a universal (...) (16 years ago, 17-May-09, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

  Re: Technicopedia Update

I have now added the sets from 1993 to Technicopedia including 8022, 8042, 8082, 8818, 8824, 8857, and 8872. (URL) Eric (URL) Technicopedia> (URL) (16 years ago, 17-May-09, to lugnet.technic, FTX)

Re: A couple of gear questions

(...) It should perhaps be noted that there are now two versions of this part, and the newer version no longer has a torque range embossed on the side. The BI for 8292 shows the older part, but mine came with the newer. My 8297 both came with the (...) (16 years ago, 9-May-09, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Heavy Haul Trailer and Winch Truck

(...) ummmm.. things could break and people could, well... you figure it out. humans and snapping high tension steal cables don't mix. cables win. weird! /G (16 years ago, 5-May-09, to lugnet.modelteam, lugnet.technic)
