Ive had this set for 3 days now, and on my first build lifting the blade was
very erratic, with a lot of stopping and starting. I looked at the
fix offered on the Lego site, but that wasnt an issue. Ive just rebuilt it
with a fix of my own, and it works flawlessly.
On page 21 of instruction book 1, as part of step 18 youre instructed to make
the following:
I discovered the either raised text or the radial pattern on the 24-tooth clutch
gear was rubbing on the structure holding the axle in place, so I swapped the
clutch gear and the bush around as so:
Note that youll need to put a bush on before the 8-tooth gear in the same step
to make it line up, however there are two spare in the set so you wont have to
raid your collection.
Did anyone else with this set notice a decrease in parts quality? Some of the
axle rounded ends are slightly misaligned so it can take a bit of force to get
bushes and other parts on the axles at first.

| I also noticed that clutch gear was rubbing on the beam, but I found that the radial pattern wasn't as bad as the text side. I just pushed it a tiny bit away from the beam and it seems to be working fine. The only mod I've made so far was switching (...) (18 years ago, 29-Oct-07, to lugnet.technic)
