I paid $40 U.S. for mine (list price is about $60) and at the sale price I
think it was well worth it. The main reason I bought it was to have something
for my 8462 Tow Truck (on order) to tow, but the 8428 by itself has really
exceeded my expectations.
The high/low rear suspension mechanism is pretty clever. The steering
and V-6 engine are fairly standard Technic-wise, but everything works
smoothly and it's a fun model to play with. It's also a great display
model; the smooth contours of the flex-tubing give the model a very sleek
appearance, and the big silver wheels and green and blue parts add some
striking details.
Plus there are four alternate models (2 on printed instructions, 3 on the
CD-ROM) though I haven't had a chance to build any of them yet.
I'd say go for it!
