Here is my latest MOC, a fully motorized LEGO tank. I'd like to thank Duane Hess
and his WWII era tank for particular inspiration and influence.

I've been wanting to build a motorized tank for years and I finally spit up the
money for some micro motors to make it happen. I can't believe LEGO isn't
producing these babies anymore, the possibilities of incorporating them into
minifig scale sets are limitless.
Each track is motorized seperately by a larger motor, the turret rotates and the
gun elevates and depresses.
Unlike my other military vehicles, the two crewmen sitting in the turret only
fit in when the hatches are open. When the hatches are closed I just pretend
they are still in there. The driver can lean back, however to allow his hatch to
close.
As far as minifig scale goes, this is a abnormally large tank, and being a
sucker for scale this is what I'm least happy with I think. I might have been
able to build it lower to the ground if I had used different motors for the
tracks. You may notice that the Warlord has a different camo scheme than some my
other military vehicles, and that's no accident. Lets just say that there may be
a major confrontation coming up soon at a hotel in Northern VA.
I actually have yet to operate it fully as I only have two battery boxes and
none of those pole reverser swtches. But by next weekend I hope to have
rectified that, and should be able to be taking the Warlord out for a spin.
