Thanks for your comments. I have also added another shot of the engine bay with
the driver's seat tipped up. This typical on this type of machine for the daily
engine and system checks.
Functionality and playability are key objectives in my models. I have a three
year old boy who really likes the actions of the pnuematics and motors. The
models have to be robust enough for him to play with, albeit with minimal adult
supervision.
Concerning pump location: I like to be able use a thumb and middle finger to
grip both base (or a point near to the base) and top of the pump. You get
maximum stroke, without causing the pump to wobble too much.
I have a little spare time now and Technic lego is a brilliant hobby. I've been
raiding Ebay lately for extra sets - mainly for the parts. I'm fairly well
equipped with bits now so watch this space for more MOCs.
