I think a set is normally available for 2 years but at a lower level than it was
in its first year.
This has implications for us as buyers, since we really have just one year to
find bargains. If a shop in our area hasn't overbought a set that we like, in
order that they need to sell it off cheap, then we might never find that set at
a discount.
I think TRU overbought Backhoe Excavators a few years ago, which is how I
managed to buy so many on a 3 for 2 offer.
We're seeing discounts on new sets such as the 8421 crane in their first year,
and even Shop at Home is discounting them. This might be because the target is
now for one year of sales rather than 2 or 3, there being new products for the
next year.
