A tacky way to solve the problem would be to run a string through the holes in a spiral type fasion and then tie the ends together. Hey; no one can say it (...) (...) You could try a cam with an offset of 1 hole sideways along the beams - the distance between the offset holes is about 1.5L (12mm).
