Hi Patrick,
I haven't ripped these particular motors apart, but I have done a few others (my
students used to drag race 5223s and some of the smaller "import" motors).
I can only tell you from my experience:
- It's not uncommon for two "identical" motors to perform radically different.
- Nor is it uncommon for two "different" motors to perform basically the same.
- Sometimes motors right out of the box are just DOGS.
IMO there are too many variables involved.. You could always attach your motors
to a Speed Computer to find out if they run the same..
BTW, I believe the "part number" on the casing is just a mold number; there's a
different one on the inside of the upper case as well. The whole case is just
the "LEGO" part of the motor assembly - a "motor mount" if you will. The real
"guts" of the motor is in another part entirely, inside the case. That's
probably where any difference lies.
