Hi all,
Recently I purchased a few technic hooks:

Most were fine, but one of the hooks, all the holes were a tight fit for axles
- it took more than reasonable force to turn an axle in them. Now while 3 of the
holes dont generally matter[1], the middle hole usually has a 2L axle with a
wedge belt wheel, and it didnt work very well at all. Has anyone else had this
problem?
BTW, I just got a 4.8mm drill bit and manually twisted it a few times in the
hole. This fixed the problem, but also removed some of the nice dark coating
from the inside of the hole.

[1] I have in the past used the 2 outside holes with a 2L axle and a bush
(smooth) - I was contemplating using such an arrangement in my
city crane but it wasnt heavy
enough.

| Sounds like quality problems, to thick layer of coating or a worn out drill bit. Call LEGO (or e-mail them) and they'll send you a new one. If you're lucky they don't want the old hook in return :) (21 years ago, 3-Feb-04, to lugnet.technic)
