I own sets that use transparent hose from the pump to the switch and black
to the pistons, and a set where grey is used from the pump to the switch and
black to the pistons. In the 8868, the black hoses become quite the head
ache, and i always find myself flipping between pages to make sure each hose
goes to the right place. I don`t own any blue hoses, and I have 2 different
types of black hose. Personally i think black is the best since that is what
real hydraulic hoses USUALLY are. We have some green at home and I saw
orange hydraulic hose the other day.

| In one of the LEGO pneumatic basic sets, you get a light grey hose, a black hose and a blue hose. I used the blue hose to get from the pump to the switch, the black hose on the contract port of the piston (to match the black cap that is there), and (...)
