Re: Gear and Axle Strength (was Re: Power Pullin' With My Tractor)

(...) Another approach that doesn't require the macaroni but should be almost as good is to simply use the 2x2 rounds as strengtheners. Since they stick together with the studs and also have an axle hole down the middle, you could use them to (...) (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.technic)

does anyone have any bohrok va instruction scans??

Hey everyone, Does anyone have any bohrok va instruction scans out there?? I was just curious on how they were built.....thanks Rex (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Gear and Axle Strength (was Re: Power Pullin' With My Tractor)

(...) Well, I've been experimenting with macaroni bearings, and had some pretty good results. You can attach 24 & 40 tooth gears directly to the 2x2 rounds - this means the axle only has to take all the load at one small point. I haven't yet tested (...)   Re: New element in new Biolicle Va sets?

(...) I got these in black from my 6950 Mobile Rocket Transport way back in the day. They were black, but weren't friction pegs. Adrian -- www.brickfrenzy.com (23 years ago, 28-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)

  On a sad note.........

Hey everyone, Sorry I haven't been on and posted for awhile. I just had a bad last couple of weeks....My mom past away, I was devistated, she had cancer of the spine. I haven't had time to do much of anything. Just thought I would let my friends at (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Gear and Axle Strength (was Re: Power Pullin' With My Tractor)

(...) Thanks for the advice. I know the subject of lubrication has been discussed many times before here and I should listen, I've ruined too many gears now! I'll have to try it next time. (...) I agree. After using the new geared 9v motors I'm (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)

  Bionicle posters

Last night walking through Wal-Mart I came across three different Bionicle posters for sale. The had an inventory of about 30 and a nice display. I had to grab me some, plus a watto's junkyard on clearance for $25. John (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Got my set of 6 Va's from S@H today

(...) Indeed the Krana has to stay in the back-pack. Therefore you have to bend the Bohrok Va a little. They are not meant to stand upright. Jaap (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Power Pullin' With My Tractor

It's not pretty. I've sheared teeth on racks when using them for Z-axis (up/down) stages that had a fair bit of weight on them. It broke the pinions too : ( To be fair though, it was bad design on my part to use a rack and pinion for that. I should (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)

  compact designs

Hi everyone! I need a few hint'n'tips, I was hoping you could help me with. 1) How to gear down a 9V motor, on the smallest amount of space, which includes a wormscrew and the engine itself in the smallest possible way. 2) Extenders, which are (...) (23 years ago, 26-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Gear and Axle Strength (was Re: Power Pullin' With My Tractor)

(...) Has anyone tried making an axle of 2x2 round bricks with bearings made from 1x4 arch bricks? I just played with it a little and it looks like the bearing would work ok.   Gear and Axle Strength (was Re: Power Pullin' With My Tractor)

New element in new Biolicle Va sets?

Well, it's new to me, a friction version of the 'technic axle pin', 3749, in black. (URL) this appeared anywhere else? It looks like it could be useful... Huw (23 years ago, 25-Jan-02, to lugnet.technic)
