(...) Which parts are you talking about? If you're talking about the special suspension parts on 8858/8465 or the ones from 8466.... I don't have either those parts. The .mpd file in my brickshelf page (see link below) has a little improvement to (...) (21 years ago, 29-May-03, to lugnet.technic)

(...) Eeeeeew! Nah I wouldnt make ANYONE do that! (...) be possible to get it even better by having the large flanges on the outside. May even be able to use 3L links instead of 4.... ROSCO (21 years ago, 28-May-03, to lugnet.technic)

Yes - the problem was not the width of the rear axle (it should be possible to shave off abother 2 studs there and retain independent suspension) but the steering mechanism at the front, with the wheels against the cylinder block on full lock.
