Iris carts interlock, you just need to make sure to stick with one size.  I
always keep the spare tops when I make taller stacks, because sometimes I make
SHORTER stacks for small projects or non-Lego storage.  I take a spare top with
me when looking at carts to be SURE they will interlock with what I have.

The Costco SEEMS to be the most common size.  Office Depot's lavender/blue ones
are just slightly smaller, so they don't interlock.

The "Costco" ones I use have been bought from Costco, Target, and several other
stores that I can't remember.

Office Max will have 7 different Iris carts for $14.99 (50% off) starting
Sunday Oct 6, but I don't know if they are the Costco size or not.  I might try
to get over there before then with a top piece to verify the sizes.

The OM part #s and sizes of drawers:
    Clear drawers, black frames:
        03110065 - 6 small
        03110074 - 2 sm, 1 hangingfilefolder
        03110797 - 4, doesn't show pic, most likely 2 sm, 2 lg
        03113419 - 2 hangingfilefolder
        03114338 - no info online, B&M only?
03114365 (1365? pixelation of the ad) - no info online, B&M only?
        20158632 (0632?) - no info online, B&M only?

Thanks for the detailed answer. It would be easier if they all interlocked.
Are the Costco ones generally considered the best? Do the Office Depot,
Target, and Kmart ones interlock at all, or are they also 3 entirely
different systems?

Thanks.

I checked out the OM Iris carts today, and they are the smaller type, they do NOT interlock with the Costco ones. (...) Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual FAQ home ***(URL) Bay Area DSMs (22 years ago, 5-Oct-02, to lugnet.storage)
