More than a passing resemblance? It was a conscious effort to capitalise on
SW's popularity. Production notes from the development of the series bear this
out. Not that this is *necessarily* a bad thing, mind you. I actually kinda
like BG (although I'm not a huge fan, that's probably only because I really
never watched it as a kid).
I agree, though, the Cylons did look better than that Technic thing.
