I am baffeled as to how that message got on .geek.
I only sent it to tore himself (at least acording to the message in my sent
mail folder I did)
And that makes it OK?  It was still extremely rude whether you sent it to • Tore
or posted it.  It showed no respect for Tore at all.

Agreed to all of Eric's above points.

Tore did not send me a rude reply.

Going solely by what Tore posted, no, he was not rude.

Mercy triumphs over justice (but each has its place), so let's take these
following points one at a time, not as a convoluted lump, just to spell it out
one more time:

He actually took the time to answer my questions, therefore he does not
consider the post rude

This does not mean he didn't consider you to be rude: unless we hear it from
him directly, we don't know what he considered. His answering your post was
done out of kindness, and perhaps professionalism as well as other things, but
I've been kind to rude people before all the while recognizing they were rude.
And people have been kind to me in return when I've been rude. And returning
kindness for rudeness is the *best* thing to do in many cases.(1)

and
since it was meant only for his eyes that means that the opinions of the rest • of the group as to the
rudeness of the post do not matter as the group should never have seen it in
the first place.

But someone thought the message was worth posting, didn't they? And because of
that, it *is* subject to group scrutiny.(2) No rules were broken in obtaining
or publicising this evidence, only confidence.

when replying, please remove the spamcake. (I don't feel like humor ATM)

(1) Many computer tech-support people do this for a living.
(2) Welcome to "Introduction to Discussion Groups" - a beginner's class.

The message was posted by me. my newsreader seemed to stuff it up and post to .geek as well as
mailing it to tore so the message was posted by me but it should never have been so therefore it
should not have been seen by people on this group.
