Looks like a really nice set.
As for the color change, if you look at this
picture of the
alternate model, everyone will get a good chance to see how badly the new and
old dark grays clash with each other (look at the wing pannels). If you look at
the rear turret, I think you can see the new light grays next to each other (the
1x2 bricks w/curved top on top of a 1x2 brick). Well, at least the light grays
don’t seem clash too badly.
I seriously hope that color mixing is only due to the fact that these pictures
are of pre-production models and that the final versions will at least be color
consistent. If TLC releases this set ~$99 with mis-matched grays, it will
definitely seem like a quality problem to the general consumer. However, this
also proves that TLC cannot be un-aware of how bad old and new dark grays look
together.
