Matt, nice work!!
Don't worry, as someone who has built a large shuttle, I hear you about the
weight!! Mine has a third landing leg in the rear, though more for balance
than anything else (I couldn't imagine trusting just two side-by-side as in
the film version)! Do your wings fold down? Now THAT would make for a great
photo!
Just out of curiosity, why did you make the side wings reach all the way to
the center wing when folded up? I noticed that your smaller one had the
correct shorter wings (the scene added to the EMPIRE Special Edition with a
CG shuttle whose wings fold up and reach the top of the center wing has
always bothered me, as it was obviously NOT rendered directly from the model
from JEDI, whose wings were a bit shorter).
Here are some shots of mine. We have some notable parallels in our designs!
It's neat to see how some design approaches just make more sense, and tend
to repeat.

| (...) Thanks Brian! Those pics were very preliminary, I just wanted to get something posted. I'm sure I'll modify this many more times. The length of the wings is bugging me...they were supposed to be shorter than the center wing, but that was the (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.starwars)
