Here (off the top of my head) are the ones that I noticed (I think they're
all new):
- a ton of new podracers introduced prior to the race (about half of the
ones included in the deleted podrace intro are now included in the film)
- Anakin's mom says: "Be safe", Anakin says: "I will, mom."
- extra action in the podrace: Anakin does a cool flip right over a pod
- Anakin struggles with Gasgano blocking him
- Anakin busts his pod and has to fix it with his electromagnet tether thing
- On Coruscant when they first arrive Anakin is hesitant to leave Qui-Gon
and get in the air-taxi with Jar Jar... Jar Jar says something about Padme
being "pretty hot", there's a little bit of new scenery
That's all I noticed. I really think he should have put back in the scene
where Qui-Gon cuts that probe droid in half. The rest I could live without.
Now that the DVD is out (and DVD burners for that matter) it shouldn't be
too long before rips of that so-called "Phantom Edit" start floating around
(if the guy bothers to redo it). If I get some spare time I might try my own
hand at it...
Do any of you guys know if there's a way to view the easter-egg outtakes
if you just have a DVD-ROM and not an actual player? You're supposed to
press 11->ENTER, 3->ENTER, 8->ENTER from the Options screen of Disc 1. I
tried it on my computer, but to no avail. I even tried ripping the files
right from the disc to my hard disk, but it didn't seem to work. Perhaps the
disc is protected in some way I am unaware of.

I don't recall Anakin reattaching the loose tether when (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.starwars)
